Skincare Resolutions from…Girls with Amazing Skin

by Kiran Gill

January is the month of new beginnings and while we’re all for self-improvement, we believe successful resolutions occur when good habits are formed and maintained. While resolutions can frequently take on a vague tone such as “read more” or “eat better,” this year, we encourage you to adopt one small practice that may just revolutionize your skincare regimen. It can be as simple as removing your makeup every night with a Miceller Wipe, or remembering to use a toner after washing. (So easy with our solid Matcha Toner, which is packed with soothing and purifying kombucha and witch hazel!)

If you find yourself resolution-less this New Year, take some inspo from some of our favorite cool girls. They’re spilling the beans on everything from their personal AM and PM regimen to their biggest beauty regret from 2017.

What’s your current skincare regimen? AM and PM?
In the mornings, I will use Kate Somerville Exolifkate and Origins Clay Mask at least 2 to 3 times a week. I cleanse daily with Paula’s Choice Clear Cleanser, Bioderma Micellar Water to remove my makeup, and finish with a layer of Bioderma Hydrabio Serum with Bio Oil followed by IT Secret Sauce Moisturizer and La Mer Intense Eye Balm.

In the evenings, I use Dr. Dennis MD Peel Pad & Kiehl’s Overnight Hydrating Mask at least 2 to 3 times a week. I also use Lucas Paw Paw on the lips and eyes, and Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion.

What’s one beauty ritual or product that’s here to stay in the New Year?
Silk Peels from Erase Spa! I just started, and it gave me an instant pick-me-up. I want to try SB Skin’s Micro Current Facial next. I also get a once-a-week eyebrow henna that saves me from having to fill my brows in.

What’s your biggest skin vice?
Sugar! If I’m too indulgent, I will have little breakouts, so I try to limit myself, but I usually fail on that front. 🙂

Do you have any beauty regrets from 2017?
No regrets, it’s always good to try things out! But, I got a little crazy with an Alpha Hydroxy Acid which saw me looking like a monster for a week. So, I probably wouldn’t do that again.

What’s your 2018 skincare resolution?
To make more of an effort with anti-aging preventatives, eye creams, and serums! They always pay off in the long run.

This LA-native with serious modeling chops (you’re going to be seeing her all over this year) is looking to combat hyperpigmentation and acne scarring in 2018.

What’s your current skincare regimen? AM and PM?
My regimen is the same for both AM and PM, except for the fact that during the day I wear Peter Thomas Roth CC Cream with SPF on top of my moisturizer.

For my routine, I first wash my face with Image Skincare Ormedic Balancing Cleanser, and then I use the Esthetic Underground Hydrating Toner, and the Collagen Loss Prevention Serum, followed by Control Corrective Moisturizer. A couple of times a week, I use Dr. Dennis Gross Peel Pads to combat my hyperpigmentation. I actually don’t have very good skin and due to a recently discovered imbalance in my hormones, I am now on Spironolactone and have already seen some improvements. If you’re struggling with hormonal acne as I was, I strongly encourage you to get your hormones checked!

What’s one beauty ritual or product that’s here to stay in the New Year?
Hyaluronic acid!

What’s your biggest skin vice?
It’s touching my face!

Do you have any beauty regrets from 2017?
Wearing the wrong color foundation was my biggest regret.

What’s your 2018 skincare resolution?
My resolution is to be more diligent about peels and masks since I’m on the quest to tackle my acne scars and hyperpigmentation in 2018!

What’s your current skincare regimen? AM and PM?
I am obsessed with MDNA By Madonna. I actually bought it way earlier in Japan, but now the company is expanding in the US, which reminds me to use it every day!

If I am being completely honest, I don’t wash my face before going to bed on a no-makeup day! But, in the morning, I massage my face and neck with MDNA by Madonna and EST (Essence of SOFINA Technology) Massage Balm. Then, I wipe my face with Lancôme Tonique Confort, Linne Repair Face Oil, and Tata Harper Elixir Vitae. When I am not doing testing, I use coconut oil and bar soap to take off my make up.

What’s one beauty ritual or product that’s here to stay in the New Year?
Bag Balm forever! It’s seriously the best moisturizer!

What’s your biggest skin vice?
Makeup remover wipes! They leave my skin super irritated and dry, but due to my eyelash extensions, I can’t put an oil remover all over my face.

What’s your 2018 skincare resolution?
Go to Le Bristol Paris’ Tata Harper Spa whenever I am in Paris and have Sarah do my face.

What’s your current skincare regimen? AM and PM?
I start off my morning regimen with a light cleanser that I lather on with my Foreo face scrub brush for that deep clean. Post face wash, I usually like to spritz rosewater on my clean face for that ~fresh~ feeling and then apply a few morning serums to revitalize my skin. Then, the boring, but nevertheless crucial step in my morning routine: Applying prescription facial medication. Trying to eradicate all acne here…

Moisturizing is next! I use a thicker cream for my cheeks (these tend to get very dry for me) and a light moisturizer for the rest of my face. Last but not least, I always finish off with a generous coat of sunscreen — rain or shine. As for lips, I use a creamy, thick lip balm with cocoa butter to minimize chapped lips, especially during the winter.

In the PM, I alternate between my AM cleanser and an apricot scrub (to fully rid face of any dry skin flakes/dirt). I then use a night cream to moisturize right after. If I notice any bumps on my face, I dab on a few spots of drying lotion overnight. At least once a week, I go in with a sheet/clay/face mask to hydrate my face.

What’s one beauty ritual or product that’s here to stay in the New Year?
My guilty pleasure is my gold face mask from Oribe that I love to indulge in here and there. It’s definitely coming with me in 2018 😉

What’s your biggest skin vice?
My skin is extremely sensitive and gets red very easily (very self conscious of this…).

Do you have any beauty regrets from 2017?
The biggest regret was trying any sort of ombre eye shadow look. Whenever I look back on photos, I realize how much I look like I just got punched in the face!

What’s your 2018 skincare resolution?
I want to use as little makeup as possible! I am trying to cut out foundations/BB creams/tinted moisturizers altogether because they block my pores which often results in more acne. I am also trying to use less mascara because my eyelashes fall out as a result! Finally, I am saying no to dark eyebrows à la Kardashians. Overall, I’m striving for a clean, clear, and au natural look for 2018!
