MILK MAKEUP is looking for an Editorial Creative Director Responsible for leading creative production for Milk Makeup brand experience. Supports Chief Creative Officer in building scalable teams and developing production strategy for content creation to support business goals for marketing campaigns and programs.
How You'll Thrive:
Brand Builder: Partners with Chief Creative Officer to develop and build brand voice to support brand positioning. Functions as brand manager to ensure consistency across all 360 touchpoints from oversight to execution. Develops editorial standards for brand (including editorial guidelines and best practices).
Strategic Thinker: Partners with Chief Creative Officer to develop 360 creative strategy to support business goals. Understands both marketing and creative needs to provide creative solutions that support brand positioning. Drives integration of creative direction, voice and messaging across all channels including, but not limited to: creative concepting/storytelling, product descriptions/editorial positioning, social creative strategy and storytelling, paid media, product packaging, in-store fixtures, video scripts, brand and cultural initiatives, customer service responses, etc. Develops editorial standards for brand campaigns.
Creative Collaborator: Partners closely with Visual Creative, Product Development and Visual Merchandising teams to develop creative concepts for robust 360 client experience. This includes but is not limited to: creative storytelling/editorial and campaign hooks, in- store messaging system/POS navigation, weighing in on casting, imagery, and overall brand/campaign expression.
Product Positioning Partner: Partners closely with Brand/Product Marketing and Product Development before creative briefing stage to build out high level editorial product positionings and inform creative strategy for 360 campaigns.
Cross-functional Partner: Builds and maintains relationships with cross-functional partners to ensure strategic objectives are met. Regularly meets and collaborates with various cross- functional teams including Brand Marketing, Product Development, Talent Relations, Social & Content, Retail, Dotcom, EDU and CX.
External Partner: Partners with outside agency and vendors when appropriate including: Strategic agencies, paid media partners, external writers etc. Manages agency relationship to ensure work is aligned with brand and agency is leveraged in effective manner.
Inspirational Mentor: Leads with creative vision and inspires team to think strategically and create exciting elevated creative solutions that function for the business. Educates team in creative expertise and knowledge including product positioning and strategy, brand tone of voice, strategic messaging, editorial guidelines and best practices.
Thoughtful Manager: Manages direct reports/freelancers to ensure projects track to schedule, creative adheres to vision and executes properly. Assigns workload and responsibilities to team in thoughtful manner to develop direct reports and build effective creative team.
Skilled Presenter: Represents creative team in a variety of settings: large/small groups, direct reports, managers, formal presentations.
We’d like YOU to have:
5-7+ years of creative experience.
College degree; BA or BFA preferred.
Passion for branding, strategy, messaging.
Knowledge and expertise in retail and digital space.
Understanding of beauty and fashion.
Strong leadership, negotiation and consensus-building skills.
Strong relationship-building skills; ability to work with a variety of people in various
Team player: Enjoys working with others and collaborating with positive attitude.
Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
Excellent presentation skills at both team and leadership levels.
Solid organizational skills, detail-oriented; time management skills, ability to juggle
Proficient knowledge of Adobe programs: Indesign, Illustrator, Photoshop etc.
Ability to work in a very fast paced environment and meet very tight deadlines.
The drive to excel and succeed; self-motivated.
Passion for Milk Makeup, our products, programs, clients, retail and 360 marketing.
Some travel may be required.
